Discover 1993 Matrix stage

Ella Rose Oliver-Shepherd cutting my hair on the Matrix Platform in 1993 (the Diva Cut for men) as Arnie looks over us in background from his memorial wall.  To think now I have the potential to be on the platform  just thrills me!  From those Ardell lashes to Logics (my favorite Bleach product!),  thank you Arnie and Sydell for all you have done to allow me to be all I will be!

The confetti has settled....

I woke up this morning after having one the best nights of sleep in some time with a spring in my step and song in my head...well those of you who know me and my ADHD...I always have a song in my head...lol.  I have verified my paperwork and hours have been reported to the licensing agency for my upcoming cosmetology boards.   I have submitted all of my requirements for Matrix Spread the Love. (How do you spread the Love:  http://MyMatrixFamily.com/hugs )  JUST MAKES ME WANT TO GO HUG EVERYBODY today!   I am now going to yet another technical interview for a salon and next  week  I should be employed!  So, as the confetti has settled onto the ground just like the many pieces of my past it all gets swept together to make a big pile and I am looking forward to many more pieces of confetti from my new adventures making an even bigger pile!

My Sister (#2) came up for Graduation!

Not only did Joy, come up for my graduation she took me dinner at Pi Pizzeria in the Loop www.restaurantpi.com .  We had a such a great evening.   We started our dinner with getting Princess parking across the street from the restaurant.  No wait for an alfresco table.  The food was amazing as always.  Joy, was sceptical at first when I told her I wanted to eat Pizza for my celebration dinner as she not being from St Louis did not know what was in store at Pi.
I started our  dining with an order of the garlic bread, artisan bread served warm with a fresh roasted head of garlic....AMAZING!
We then had our salad course of the "Citrus"-arugula, oranges, fennel, pine nuts and orange-honey vinaigrette;  and I had the "Bada Bing"-field greens, toasted almonds, gorgonzola cheese, dried bing cherries, with raspberry vinaigrette.
After finishing our amazing salads we completed our meal with the "bucktown" pizza mozzarella, roasted chicken, artichoke hearts, red bell peppers, green olives, red onions, feta and sun-dried tomatoes.
We then made an attempt for Gelotta at Crepe in the Central West End but they were closed so we chose Coffee at Coffee Cartel and Cup cakes from CUP (http://www.cravethecup.com/cupcakes.php) they had the pumpkin harvest out and of course Sis and I had those YUM!
Thanks, again, Joy, for making my day extra special.

I GRADUATED!!!!

WOOO WHOO!   I graduated officially!   One step closer to being a Glamour Technician!  My Graduation was that of legend full of mini tiaras, blinking rings, and lots of confetti!

What would my best friend say about me?

I am the loyal friend who you can call in the middle of the night and what ever you need I will make it happen however, I will give you 9 kinds of hell the next morning and probably make you some of my famous homemade cookies and laugh about what happened the night before that afternoon.

When do I feel most creative?

Creativity for me is a constant. No certain time of the day, month, or year holds my most creative time.  I can honestly say I am most creative when I am sparked with an idea and a bit of a challenge.  You add a bit of problem solving into a project for me and I will attack it like a school of piranha and the ideas will flow out of me like the sprays of water from the piranha tales lashing in the water.

Who is my biggest inspiration?

My parents are my biggest inpiration.  They both are cheering me on Heaven and I feel them with all the time.  The work ethic both my Father and Mother had was amazing when I get tired I think of the many times my mother stayed awake after working 3rd shift in a plastics factory to do something for me or do house work putting us over her own needs.   My Father's word was genuine if my Dad said he do it..then it would be done!  I also know that the time I had with him on earth I did not appreciate however I do appreciate the time I had and I miss him and Mother greatly.

Where do I look to for inspiration?

My inspiration comes from several areas.
First, I would say inspirations comes from the fashion runways; trends in clothing are cyclical to some degree and I think the that hairstyling can be as well to meld with the fashion classic hairstyle continue to be reborn and I love that!....."where would we be without where we have been"
Second, I look to the industry icons for inspiration  I see what is coming out on the platform and then create a look that is my own.
Finally, I look to the person sitting in my chair because ultimately they are the style. I want to find out about their personality and personal style as well as lifestyle which I like to combine to give them a look that makes them smile and spread some love.

What is my favorite classic hair style and why?

A long layered Bob with a wet magnetic roller set is my favorite classic style.   The volume and the wave of this style is so versatile and totally stands the test of time and also physically this style will hold up for several days if wrapped properly in the evening before sleep.    I just can't get past my southern roots....The higher the hair the closer to Heaven!

If I could have dinner with and Industry Icon, who would it be and why?

This answer is quick and easy....VIDAL SASSOON.   I have had the privilege of being taught some of the Vidal techniques for cutting and the result is always precision.  Vidal as the geometric vision and technical ability to execute his vision.  The man is one of the most disciplined people I know and I remind myself of his lifestyle each time I need motivation.  I also remind myself of the story when Vidal was frustrated and threw his sheers which stuck in the ceiling.....totally sound like me lol.

The Fabulous Mrs. Mary

This pic was taken 09/26/2011 and this pretty lady is the Famous Mrs. Mary Wilson.   She is sporting her 10:00 am Monday roller set.  I saw Mrs. Mary every other Monday at 10:00 am sharp for her roller set and always good conversation.  Mary, a native of University City, MO, back when the trolley cars ran has told me stories of hopping the trolley to Welston, MO, set get her hair permed on the metal rods and many many great stories of all the different places she has lived and traveled while married to her career Army husband.  Mary made Mondays exciting for at Regency and I am thankful for the time I spent with her and her "candid" opinions.
